Day 11: Give to the Needy

​This time of year is definitely when we think to care for the homeless and less fortunate. We all most likely have something we do every year to reach out and make a difference. This challenge comes from our Redefine Normal Pursuit because I'm asking you to make a greater impact this holiday season.

Here are a couple ideas:
  • Get together with a group of families and collect necessities to take to the homeless shelter. Call your local shelter and see what they need, then as a group deliver your donation. 
  • If you are hosting a party this year, ask your friends to bring a toy to donate to Toys for Tots or food for a holiday meal to give to a family in need.  Guests always want to bring something for the hostess so everyone will be happy to give. 
  • Adopt a family . Call you church and ask who may need some help this year. Supply the food for their holiday meal as well as gifts for the whole family.

*I have adult children so when the kids were grown, we thought it would make a greater impact to have them purchase their own gifts to give to the shelter. We still all go together and drive to the shelter as a family. -Nicole Cavey
