Day 14: Random Acts of Kindness

I absolutely LOVE this idea from Positively Smitten! This challenge comes from our Redefine Normal and Humans Pursuits.
  • Write each act of kindness below on a strip of paper and stick it in a jar.
  • Each week, pick a new “act” and commit to making it happen that week.
  • ​OR for just today, choose one random act of kindness from the list below and commit to making it happen TODAY! 
52 Random Acts of Kindness
  1. Open the door for someone.
  2. Help someone carrying a lot of stuff.
  3. Invite a friend to the movies or dinner.
  4. Put change in a vending machine.
  5. Drop off a toy or game at a homeless shelter.
  6. Send someone a small gift anonymously.
  7. Bring flowers to your friend or a neighbor.
  8. Pay for the person behind you at the drive-thru.
  9. Write encouraging post-its for strangers to find.
  10. Pay someone a compliment.
  11. Text a friend to say you’re thinking of them.
  12. Bring a treat to share with your coworkers.
  13. Let someone merge into your lane in traffic.
  14. Let someone cut in front of you in line.
  15. Loan money on Kiva.
  16. Stop at a child’s lemonade stand.

At Love What's Next we have a similar idea that we call the Smile Playback Project. It  comes with 365 sheets of colorful paper and a branded jar. Each day you write down one thing that made you smile that each day for an entire year. After the year is over, instead of writing something what made you smile each day, you get to pull out a piece of paper and relive those happy moments! ​
