Day 24: Hug Someone for 15 Seconds
Today's challenge I saved for last because it's one of my most favorites and it fits into three of our Pursuits. Redefine Normal, because I bet you don't often hug for 15 seconds, Simple Bliss, because it's truly a simple pleasure, and Humans Pursuit, because it definitely brings us closer to the one's we love!
Hug someone really tight for at least 15 seconds and it will lift your spirits and fill you with joy! It's actually proven...researchers say holding a hug for an extended time lifts one's serotonin levels, elevating mood and creating happiness. Virginia Satir, a respected family therapist, says we need four hugs a day for survival. We need eight hugs a day for maintenance and we need twelve hugs a day for growth. If this is true, then this challenge is incredibly important to our happiness and to those we love! The best part is that this is a gift/challenge you give but also receive equally!! On this day before Christmas, you'll most likely be around family and friends, don't waste this challenge. Take full advantage of the gifts this challenge will bring! |
