Dream Board Project

Welcome to the Love What's Next Vision Board Project!  This Project is a lot of fun and can really help you visualize what it is you hope to accomplish! Visualizing is so important to reaching any goal that's why we spend so much time in the Love What's Next Project focusing on what we want to accomplish and getting real clear on what that looks like! A dream/vision board is a great way to keep our goals front and center at all time!

You will be able to save your "masterpiece" to your computer so you can use it as your screensaver as well as on your phone!  When you're finished you should be beyond excited to want to take the steps to make your vision board a reality!!  I'm super excited for you!

YOUR DREAMS MATTER!!

Start TODAY writing down at least 1 things you would like to see happen in YOUR LIFE in these 5 categories....
  • Health & Well-being
  • Relationships
  • Finances (job/career)
  • Adventure (try something new, vacation or hobby)
  • Daily Life (what that dream day looks like if money and circumstances didn't matter, how would you like to spend your days).

Don't put an end date on any of them...just write them down. That's the first step in building your Love What's Next Dream/Vision Board.  Second step is to envision for yourself what it will look like when you reach your dreams/goals within each category.  So let's do that NOW...let's create your board!

1. Log into Pinterest

Picture
Log into Pinterest and create a new board and name it your "Love What's Next Vision Board". If you currently don't have an account with Pinterest, it's super easy to get one! Follow this link .

Begin searching Pinterest for images that reflect the feeling, mood, goals, adventures, personality, or achievements you want to accomplish. Pin your images to your LWN Vision Board.

NOTE: Be sure to choose one photo with a quote for the center of your board that best sums up what your vision and dreams are for this next year.

2. Save Images to Your Computer

Picture
After your board has at least 10 images, it's time to save each image to your computer. From your LWN Vision Board on Pinterest, one at a time open your images by first clicking on the image you want to save.  Then right click  on the image and a drop down will appear,  choose to "save image as".

NOTE:  If you are using the touch pad on your lap top and not a mouse, the right click function is used by tapping two fingers on the touch pad at one time.

Picture
Name each image starting with DB (Dream Board) and save in your desktop file, this will make it easy to find all the images in your desktop folder because they will all be categorized together.  For example DB office, DB home, DB Italy etc.  Once you've saved one, go back to your Pinterest board, open another image and save to your computer following the same steps until you've saved all your images on your LWN Vision Board.

Pic Monkey App

Picture
Pic Monkey is the design, collage app we'll be using to create your board. This is where the fun begins! You'll need to first create an account in order
to begin. The first 7 days are free for you to play around with their app but when you're ready to export your board and save it to your computer, you'll have to pay $7.99  for a month's usage. Be sure to read the details so you're familiar with their policies.  Follow this link to Pic Monkey to create your account. This is such a fun app to use, it's like photoshop but much easier to use, promise!!

NOTE:
It's so worth it to be able to have your dream/vision board digitally saved so you can print it, use it as your screensaver on your computer and your phone, as well as share it on social media or with your Supportability Partner if you like!

I don't receive any kickbacks from Pic Monkey. They use to let you export during your 7 day free trial not anymore unfortunately :(

Create Masterpiece

Picture
After you've created your account,  you will land here. Start by first clicking on the + to "Create a new masterpiece"

Work On Template

Picture
Next click on the "template" icon. This will then take you to a screen with a series of templates to choose from.  You are welcome to work with whatever one you would like but in this tutorial I am going to use a basic one.  After you create one with the basic template, you will be addicted! Play around with what they have to offer during your month you paid for!

Choose Template

Picture
This is the template we are going to use.  Click on the one circled here titled "Green Thumb". If you don't see it right away you can search for it with that name in the "search template" search bar located on the left hand corner under the orange monkey.

Customize Your Template

Picture
Click the blue "Customize" button and you'll be on your way to designing your board! This is going to be so fun!!

Edits

Picture
You're now in the "edit" stage of the Project.  For each box within the template, you will take the same steps when replacing the current image with your image from your files on your computer. After you do a couple image boxes, you will see how easy and fun this is.

First, click on the box you want to replace as shown in the image here. Then, go to step #2 shown on the image and click the  "Replace" button. This will take you to your images saved on your desktop where you can choose which one you want to place in that box within the template.

NOTE: You will be able to change images if you don't like where you positioned them the first time. All you do is follow the same steps above as you did to place your first image there. You will be able to play around with your images. It moves quickly once you know what you're doing.

Get Images From Your Computer

Picture
Click on the "Computer" icon to retrieve your photos from your file on your desktop.

You will be re-directed to your files. If it doesn't take you directly to your desktop file, you will have to find that first, then your photos. Once you're in your desktop files, it should be easy to find your photos because you named them all starting with "DB" so they should all be together.

Choose Your Image

Picture
Make sure your files are being viewed by image rather than name, only because it's easier to see which photo is which. On an apple computer you can find that icon in the left hand corner above your files if you need to switch that so you can see your images. You can see my icon is highlighted in black.

Choose the photo you want to use shown in step #1 by clicking on the photo. I'm showing you in this example that I am choosing the first image but you can choose from any of the images you saved.

Then move to step #2 shown in the right hand corner of the screen by clicking on the "Open" button located on the bottom right hand corner.  Your image should then appear in the box on your template.

Easy peasy right?!

Choose Your Next Photo

Picture
Now we're just going to do what we just did again...

Click on the next box in the template where you want to place your next photo shown in "#1 Step". You can go in any order just leave the center block for last.

Then hit the "Replace" button shown in "Step #2 " in the lower right hand corner of your screen.

Follow the same steps until all your boxes are full (except the center, green box with the words) and you're happy with how it looks.

NOTE: If you prefer to use your quote image in the center to keep it simple then disregard this next step and just follow the steps from above to change out that box to an image rather than a color block with words. You will have to first highlight the text box and then hit delete on your computer keyboard to remove the text words from the template. I'll explain more below.

Designing the Center Box

Picture
Once all of your images are in place and you're happy with your board..

Click the edge of the center box to highlight the outside of the box shown in "#1 Step". This will allow you to change the color of the box and play around with colors that fit the scheme of your board. The first color dot is for the outline of the box and the second color dot is for the inside color block. As long as the edge of the box is highlighted, you can play around with different colors simply by clicking on the color wheel provide.  Play around you'll see how creative you can be!

After you're happy with the color, you can now change the words and the font used to suite your personality. Follow the next steps to change the words to your own.

Note: Remember....If you would rather put an image of a quote here , you can delete the words by clicking on the text box, the box will highlight, then click the delete button on your keyboard and they will disappear. Then follow the instructions from above to replace the box with a photo. That photo will replace the color block.

Edit the Words

Picture
Double click on the text box then begin to delete the words within it by placing your cursor at the end of the sentence and hit delete until all the words are gone.

Type whatever words you would like that expresses who you are or what your BIG goal is for the near future. You will follow the same steps to change the second text box in the center color bock as well.

You can also put the date you hope to accomplish your vision in the text box as well. It's all up to you, so be creative!

NOTE:
If you want to get rid of the little white line that separates the two text boxes, put your cursor on it shown here in the example image (it has to be highlight in blue before the next steps will work. You may have to move your cursor along the line a little to see where it will highlight).  Click on the line, once the line is highlighted, hit delete on your computer keyboard.

Change the Font

Picture
If you would like to play/change the font, it's simple but there are a few steps to take.
  • Double click the text box and move your cursor to the end of your sentence. Hold down on your cursor and highlight the words.
  • Once all the words in that text box are highlighted, move your cursor to the left of your screen and you will see a list of fonts to choose from. Scroll through them to find the font you like best. You can play around with different fonts simply by clicking on each one. You'll see your words in the text box changing as you do that.
  • Once you have decided on one font, click outside of the box and your font will stay. The next step will be to play with the size of the font you chose.

Change Size of Font

Picture
Once you have found one you like, you will probably want to adjust the size.
Look to your right of the screen, you will see the words "Size" and a scroll bar. It's circled with an arrow on the image shown here.

Click three times quickly on the text box you want to enlarge the font. Then move your cursor to the "Size" scroll bar and move it from side to side. Which ever way you want to change the font size of your words. You will see the words change size within the box as you do this. Once you're happy with your font size, simply click outside of the box and it will stay.

NOTE: If the click three times isn't working for you...
  • Double click the text box and move your cursor to the end of your sentence. Hold down on your cursor and highlight the words just like you did to change the style of the font.

Move Your Text
If you want to move your text within the center block, click on the text box once again, hold down on the mouse and move the text box wherever you want it to go. There are red lines that will show you where it's centered so keep that in mind when moving your text box around.

Finish Dream Board

Picture
Once you're happy with your board, hit on "Export" and it will walk you through saving your Love What's Next Dream Board to your computer.

Remember...to export your Project you will have to sign up for a one month subscription @ $7.99

It's so worth it to be able to have your dream/vision board digitally saved so you can print it, use it as your screensaver on your computer and your phone, as well as share it on social media or with your Supportability Partner if you like!
